Dress Style; She isn't that much of a fussy person when it comes to dressing but she does tend to favor jeans, shorts and leggings to skirts and dresses. She also likes wearing boots or converse shoes.
Other (eg birth mark, tattoo ect); She has a scar on her back that runs from her left shoulder to her middle back from when she was younger. She doesn't remember what happened but her mother always tells her it was the worst day of her life as she almost lost her then.

Personality;
Personality; Aaliyah is a pretty smart girl but she is also sarcastic and cunning, using anything and everything she can to get anything she wants. She is quite spoilt but doesn't let it show like most of the pureblood and half-blood children who are well off. She tends to speak her mind and doesn't know the meaning of curbing her tongue. She is pretty much someone who will probably break your nose if you say something she doesn't like or if she sees something she doesn't like.
Likes; Potions, speaking her mind whenever she can, annoying people to the best of her ability if she doesn't like them, egging others on to break rules, Defence Against the Dark Arts, her friends
Dislikes; Herbology, people who only use their family's name to get something and not their own power, people who are prejudiced towards others be it due to their blood status or house affiliation or even family name
Strengths; Thinking on the spot whenever there's need, not getting caught when breaking rules, finding the most obscure places to hide in, learning very quickly, agile and swift

Background;
The Burkov family is a very old one that originated from Germany but then a few hundred years ago, around the 1600's, they had appeared in England. The reason for this is unknown however most think it's due to Aaliyah's many-times great-grandfather marrying a British pureblood witch and not wanting to have her move to Germany they moved to England. They are a firmly neutral family and have never supported anyone in any war, be they the Dark Lord or the Light Lord.

Aaliyah was born to Frances Ivanov, a Russian pure-blood female, and Micheal Burkov, a British Pure-blood wizard. Aaliyah was brought up in a very happy family and she wasn't denied anything. From the age of five, she was taught everything from etiquette to dancing to politics. When she got her Hogwarts letter, Aaliyah was pretty much ecstatic as that would mean she would finally get to see the school that her father went to.

Hogwarts, ever since she first stepped foot into it, has been something like her second home. She wasn't really sure what to at first expect of the castle but she hasn't been disappointed yet and she doubts that she will be any time soon.

Aaliyah's family has an elf ancestry from the Ivanov line of the family however it is unknown when an elf married into the family. The ancestry has been known to skip over generations however it has appeared in Aaliyah the moment she had turned sixteen. Her family were understandably surprised seeing as the last elf ancestry happened ninety years ago to Aaliyah's great-great grandmother

House your character thinks they should be in:
Aaliyah was quiet surprised that the sorting was being done with an old hat that called out your house after being placed on your head. The girl tilted her head to the side as she listened to the song and thought that the hat would have quite a problem with sorting her. She had one or two qualities from all of the house and frankly she wouldn't mind which house she was to be sorted in, though Hufflepuff really wouldn't be the house for her. The other three though sounded promising.

Strolling towards the stool and sitting down, Aaliyah wondered what house she would be chosen for.

While she was hard-working she was by no means loyal and that was probably one of the biggest reasons why she thought Hufflepuff wouldn't really work for her. She was perfectly capable of being loyal but if the chance called for it she was actually very quick to stab in the back.

Gryffindor seemed to be a promising house and she thought that she would enjoy herself being in that house. She would by no means be welcomed in the beginning that was for sure due to her family but she was quite sure that she would sooner or later make friends. She wasn't really brave but she was courageous, she was also pretty much daring, what with her quick jabs at people, even if they were older then her.

Ravenclaw seemed like a house that paid too much attention to studying and while she certainly enjoyed reading and studying, she didn't think she would have the power to keep on top of her grades all the time. She was accepting of pretty much everything and she did have the creativity for the house though she probably would be too much of a trouble maker for that house.

Slytherin seemed an alright house and she just knew that she would be pretty much welcomed there, if only because of her family name and the connections that people could make with her. She could keep to the shadows in that house and not have to worry about people stabbing her in the back as she would know that it would be expected of those from that house. She did have the self-preservation that she would quite probably need while dealing with much older people in her house. She also had the ambition, of that she was quite sure, and she also had the cunning and power to back up that ambition.

Deciding to just let the hat chose, she gave a small sigh and waited for the hat to call out her house.
